Abandoned roller coaster at the abandoned amusement park Williams Grove here in PA. Every Sunday there's a flea market open on the grounds, and my family and I went there over the weekend.

Thank you very much. When I climbed up the ramp to take it, I was really nervous that I would either be yelled at or that the floorboards would break under me. Haha.

That was taken at the amusement park that used to be William's Grove in York, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the park was shut down, and they use the grounds for flea markets. As far as I know, that coaster and the fun house are the only rides that are still there.

Your welcome! Haha, I would be nervous too, but I know curiosity & excitement would surely get the best of me =P I really do like this shot though, It almost looks as if its so old & gone at the bottom of the lift, but gets 'newer' and whiter as you continue up, to bad its closed.

But that great that you're able to go there and take pictures! I'd love to get down there myself (I'm in MA though =X)

The whole time I was walking up there, I was like, "please don't let me be yelled at, please don't let me die, ect." Haha. I really wanted to get it, and I'm glad I did. =]


It was really depressing, seeing the park. Like, to know what it used to be like, and then to see it empty. Well, it wasn't "empty," but it was devoid of any amusement park atmosphere, you know? -shivers-

Yeah definitely. I hate seeing old amusement parks / rides because it makes me miss what it used to be. Even if I was never there in its busy times. Haha, I love it at the same time though because I see a definitive beauty in the abandoned coasters, it's like freaky, & magical, or something along those lines. I'm an avid coaster obsessor =P so even being at places like Coney Island makes me sad because I can still picture how amazing it must have been years ago.

Exactly. I mean, when you see like Carousels and Rollercoasters and Ferris Wheels you automatically put carnival music or children laughing with it, and that alone can scare the bejeebus out of a lot of people. Haha. My favorite carnival ride has always been the Carousel: I love the history behind them, and they're just beautiful, you know? They're like one of the only rides that's really painted up to be visually appealing to future riders. Gahh I REALLY wanna go to Coney Island and have a Nathan's hot-dog. =P Sorry, that was really random. XD

I have other pictures in my gallery from that same park, but they're not as visually awesome as that coaster one. XD

Yes, I agree completely. & It is very freaky! I love Carousels as well (though coasters are my favorite). The are beautiful, especially the ones with original woodwork horses (if you can find one!) Haha, I've been a Carousel fan since I was little though, probably because my love of horse back riding :) Hehe. Haa, I just wanna go to Coney Island and sit on the Cyclone for an hour. I love how you can annoy the crap out of people by sitting there and paying for ride after ride without getting off :)

I'll deff check out your other pictures from there as well! I'm off for tonight but I'll be on again tomorrow =P

It's only annoying when our the one waiting for a seat & someone keeps riding & riding & riding. Haha.
